How do fees and insurance work?
I do not accept insurance within my private practice. As a fee for service provider, I am able to offer more privacy and flexibility to my clients than would be possible under a managed care model. For both psychotherapy and assessment, I am an out-of-network provider. I can provide receipts for services rendered including relevant information that may be submitted to your insurance company to request reimbursement. It may be helpful to contact your insurance company before scheduling to determine whether you have out-of-network benefits. Cash, check, and most major credit cards are accepted as forms of payment.
Since I am out of network provider, you have the choice to pay out of pocket or seek reimbursement from your insurance.
If you would like to pay privately (out of pocket) which means you are not using insurance, you have the right to a Good Faith Estimate under the No Surprises Act. The No Surprises Act (H.R. 133), requires that health care providers provide an estimate of the bill for any medical items or services, to clients or patients who do not have insurance or who are not using insurance. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services which shows the costs of items and services that are reasonably expected for your health care needs for an item or service. The estimate is based on information known at the time the estimate was created. You can find out more about the Good Faith Estimate here.
